Moon Over Buffalo is a farcical comedy about a dysfunctional theater troupe performing in Buffalo, New York, in 1953. The diva lead actress, Charlotte Hay (Deb Gauthier), is barely tolerant of her philandering, semi-alcoholic husband, George (Dave Fichtner). Mishaps and confusion arise for the company when famed film director Frank Capra plans to attend a performance, possibly to cast the two in a movie. Their daughter Roz (Marley Vandercook)comes to introduce her fiance, Howard (Samuel Kelly) to the family. At least until she crosses paths with ex-fiance, Paul (Stephen "Mike" Johnson), whom she left in pursuit of a "normal" life. Charlotte’s nearly-deaf mother, Ethel (Lisa Martek) despises her son-in-law and Richard (Tom Crosby), their agent, intends to woo Charlotte away, contributing to the mayhem. To make matters worse, Eileen (Tammy Watson), a young actress, reveals that she is pregnant--with George's baby. The actors need to remain civil and sober long enough to present Private Lives--or is it Cyrano?--for their esteemed guest. Moon Over Buffalo is fast-paced and fun, directed by Richard Kraemer with the assistance of Dave Stoutenburg.
